Free weekend travel on new motorway to Kanchanaburi

Motorists can now enjoy toll-free access to a portion of the new motorway under construction between Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi provinces during weekends.

As per the Highways Department, a 50-kilometer segment connecting Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi will be open without charge every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This initiative will be in effect from 3pm on Friday until 9pm on Sunday until further notice, significantly cutting travel time from one hour to approximately 30 minutes.

While the highlighted segment will be operational, the remaining gates along the highway will remain closed, as indicated in the announcement.

The newly constructed M81 highway spans from Bang Yai district in Nonthaburi province to Kanchanaburi, covering a distance of 96 kilometers and featuring a total of eight toll gates along its route.
