Iconsiam to Host Thai Art Toy Festival

This Saturday and Sunday, the Thai Art Toy Fest will transform the Icon Art & Culture Space at Iconsiam into a vibrant creative hub, featuring the works of 80 talented artists and studios who will share their interpretations of Thai myths and beliefs through captivating artworks.

This event is a collaborative initiative involving the Thai Art Toy Fest, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Iconsiam, and DDD Collectible Art Toys, aimed at promoting Thai culture through soft power. Attendees can explore the Art Toy Market and discover the latest art toy creations inspired by popular tourist attractions, local culture, and Thai history.

One of the highlights will be the launch of “Art Toys Of Fantastic Beasts From Five Regions,” which promotes new travel routes across the country. These toys depict mythical creatures like “Dugong Holding Roasted Pork,” inspired by a popular dish and the Dugong, a protected species in Trang province, and “Bryde’s Whale On A Mackerel Basket,” which symbolizes the abundance of seafood in the Gulf of Thailand, particularly from Samut Sakhon province.

Other notable features include the “Let’s Camping With Your Toy” exhibition by DDD Collectible Art Toys and Motley Party Studio, a Model Printing Workshop by Vallejo, an NFT discussion panel, and the launch of Monomoth figures created by Smiling Angel.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a workshop where they can create their own spiritual art toy using incense powder collected from various renowned temples and shrines throughout the country. Admission to the festival is free.
