Police are looking for the missing girlfriend of a British adolescent who was discovered dead in a forest in Thailand with head wounds.
In his birthplace of Lampang, Woramet Ben Taota, 16, went motorcycle riding with Yam, also 16, on Saturday but failed to return.
Ben was reportedly discovered dead in a grove in the Ban Than district on Sunday morning, with injuries that appeared to be the result of blunt assault. The teenager’s phone and money were gone from his shoulder bag, according to the police, who speculated that he may have been robbed.
Since there were no indications of a fight, they think he was slain somewhere else and dumped in the forest. As of right now, his partner is still missing. According to Thai media, Ben’s body was discovered on Sunday morning by a waste collector who was at work.
Police ‘The station received a notice at 10.15am that a deceased individual was found in the undergrowth,’ Colonel Sittisak Singtongla, superintendent of the Mae Tha Police, said.
The scene was visited by inquiry teams from the Mae Tha Police Station and Lampang Provincial inquiry Team, as well as forensics officials, forensic medicine doctors, and members of the Tanna Krua Forest Rescue team.
According to Thai media, the adolescent was discovered leaning against a tree while wearing a black long-sleeve T-shirt and pants.
The body has been brought to a hospital for an autopsy, according to the police.
We are looking for the victim’s female partner as well as other people close to him. She is a crucial player in this investigation because she was the last person to see him alive.
Ben’s mother, Ooy Taota, told police that on Saturday night, her son had bid her farewell and claimed he was “going to work with friends,” but he had not provided any other information.
After learning of his passing, friends paid Taota tribute on Facebook.
The parents of the missing girl allegedly “pleading” with the media to assist in finding their daughter. The death may have been motivated by an affair, a personal issue, or a disagreement at work, according to the police, who stated they are not excluding any motives.
We still haven’t resolved the matter, said police colonel Sittisak.
“We still cannot rule out other issues,” a police official said, “but it is still unclear whether it was a robbery because the deceased’s phone and cash were not found.”
