During the initial five months of 2024, foreign companies’ investments in Thailand surged by 58%, totaling 71.702 billion baht. Recently established firms employed 1,212 workers, marking a 60% decline from the previous year. Japan emerged as the primary investor in the region, with an investment of 40.214 billion baht and 84 new companies setting up operations. The number of employees hired by newly registered firms recorded a significant drop of 60% compared to 2023.
