Thailand continues to experience rainfall in the early days of the cool season, with showers expected to persist in Bangkok over the weekend, according to the Meteorological Department.
Although the cool season officially commenced over a week ago, many regions across the country have still faced heavy rainfall.
“This is a transitional period,” the department stated in a Facebook post on Thursday, explaining that the ongoing showers are part of the shift from the rainy season to the cool season. The lingering rain is attributed to the influence of a cold front extending from China and the La Niña weather pattern.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration issued a warning on Friday, indicating a 70% likelihood of rain across Greater Bangkok. Additionally, the weather agency forecasts continued rainfall in central, northern, and northeastern provinces throughout the weekend.
