India’s leading airline IndiGo is expanding its fleet with the addition of more aircraft.
The airline has finalized an order for 30 Airbus A350 long-range jets, marking a first for IndiGo.
The order is priced at $9.5 billion at list prices and includes the option to acquire an additional 70 A350 jets.
Commencing in 2027, deliveries of the planes signify a strategic move towards bolstering operations in long-haul markets.
Describing the agreement as a significant development, Airbus views this deal as a promising advancement in their partnership with IndiGo.
IndiGo, recognized for catering to nearly 100 million passengers annually, predominantly on domestic and medium-haul routes connecting central and Southeast Asia as well as the Middle East.
The previous year, IndiGo achieved a milestone by placing a record-breaking order for 500 A320neo series aircraft from Airbus.
