TAT’s Nithee Seeprae Provides Tourism Update and Future Projections at TTM Plus 2024
The Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2024, currently hosted in Phang-Nga province, featured TAT’s Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Nithee Seeprae, offering insights and forecasts for the full year ahead.
With 425 buyers from diverse global regions attending, a significant portion being return participants, the event boasts 430 booths, including winners of the Thailand Tourism Awards 2023. Among them, 360 represent hotels and resorts, with an additional 34 tour operators.
TAT anticipates that the event will drive over THB3 billion in future tourism revenues, highlighting the tourism opportunities in Phang-Nga, with notable attractions like Khao Lak and Phang-Nga Bay.
Reviewing last year’s performance, Thailand greeted over 28 million international visitors, resulting in THB1.2 trillion in spending. Notably, Malaysia, China, South Korea, India, and Russia emerged as the top source markets. By the end of May 2024, Thailand had already seen over 14 million international arrivals, with China moving ahead of Malaysia in the top source markets.
TAT envisions achieving a total tourism revenue of THB3 trillion, fueled by THB1.92 trillion from an estimated 35 million international arrivals in 2024. The agency remains committed to offering unforgettable travel experiences with the latest campaign, “Amazing Thailand: Your Stories Never End,” aiming to inspire wanderlust and provide meaningful adventures.
Emphasizing sustainable tourism practices, TAT aims to position Thailand as a high-value, eco-conscious destination, offering enriching experiences to visitors. Initiatives such as the Thailand Tourism Awards promote responsible travel, enhancing Thailand’s reputation as a clean, convenient, and environmentally friendly tourism hotspot.
During the presentation, the latest “Amazing Thailand” ad was shared, focusing on concepts like culinary travel, wellness retreats, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai Nature and Culture, and sports and soft adventures.
Highlighting sustainable Thai attractions like Wareerak Hot Spring and Wellness in Krabi and Mekin Farm in Khon Kaen, the presentation outlined upcoming major events in Thailand, such as Summer Sonic Bangkok 2024 in August, the OR Thailand Grand Prix in Buriram in October, and the Loi Krathong Festival 2024 in November.
