MATT WALLACE MAKES HISTORY WITH MONUMENTAL BACK 9 AT DP WORLD TOUR WITH 9 BIRDIES IN A ROW

Bangkok One News reporting live from the Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, witnessed an historic moment when England’s Matt Wallace birdied every hole on the back 9.

Murmurs around the course could sense something spectacular was going to happen as crowds rushed to the 18th hole after the Englishman birdied the tough par 17th from 6 feet for 8 birdies in a row.

Wallace launched a drive over the stream on 18, down the right hand side and left himself 202 yards to the flag. Hitting 5 iron, he pushed it slightly and ended up short sided in the greenside bunker. Lying nicely on the upslope the English wizard calmly popped the ball out, narrowly missing the hole and finished 18 inches away.

A 3rd round total of 60 (-12) catapulted Wallace up the leader board to sit top at -16 as things stand now.
