Money show 2023 goes Green

Major stakeholders in the financial services sector, including banks, financial institutions, nonbanks, insurance providers, securities firms, asset management firms, as well as public and private organizations, will attend the expo. Santi Viriyarungsarit, editor-in-chief of Money and Banking magazine, remarked.

The first and last of this year’s seven expos will be held in Bangkok. The provinces of Songkhla, Nakhon Ratchasima, Rayong, Udon Thani, and Chiang Mai will host five further expos.

Green finance, according to Santi, is a way to achieve net-zero emissions. During the 26th United Nations Framework Conference on Global Climate Change, many nations, including Thailand, vowed to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, he added.

According to Santi, green financing includes green bonds, green equity funds, green loans, and green deposits.

He continued that last year, the Thai government implemented rules to categorize economic activities based on their environmental impact, starting to support green financing and its Bio-Circular-Green economic model.

Future Money Expo will include green finance

According to studies by international banks, the amount of green financing increased internationally by more than 100 times between 2011 and 2021. According to Santi, its annual worldwide value is anticipated to reach US$6 trillion by 2030.
