Motorcycle crash in Bangkok turn up gun

A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Sena Nikhom Road in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district, resulting in the untimely death of a 37-year-old man.

The incident unfolded around 2:30 am today and took a startling turn when authorities discovered a firearm concealed beneath the seat of the vehicle.

Approximately 500 meters from the Sena Nikhom intersection along Phahon Yothin Road, a notoriously challenging four-lane street known for its curves, the accident transpired.

The victim, identified only as Nopat, was found without a helmet, having suffered severe neck injuries and ankle abrasions, leading to his immediate demise. Nearby, his overturned black Honda Scoopy motorcycle, bearing license plate number 9 กจ 231 Bangkok, lay in a mangled state.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Nopat lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a curve, resulting in a forceful collision with the steel road barrier. Bloodstains on the barrier indicated the point of impact. During efforts to identify the victim, officials discovered a black shoulder bag beneath the motorcycle’s seat, containing a fully loaded firearm. The weapon was confiscated for further examination.

Nopat’s body was transferred to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy, as reported by KhaoSod.

Authorities have been in contact with Nopat’s relatives to facilitate the collection of his body and subsequent religious funeral rites.
