New York visit boosted trade and investment, govt says

According to Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Chai Watcharong, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s trip to New York to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly was effective in strengthening ties and boosting trade and investment with other nations.
Srettha made five speeches, met with the heads of big firms like Tesla, Google, Microsoft, Citibank, JP Morgan, and Estee Lauder, and held meetings with a number of international dignitaries. According to Chai, these businesses expressed a desire to invest more money in Thailand.

In addition to expressing anticipation that Thai businesses will list on the New York Stock Exchange next year, Srettha voiced confidence that numerous overseas investors will contribute at least $5 billion apiece to Thailand.

Additionally, discussions on Thailand possibly hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2032 were held with FIFA executives. Additionally, there has been a huge rise in financial support for football, with sponsorship going from 250,000 to 2 million baht annually.

In order to accomplish Sustainable Development Goal 17, which focuses on international cooperation for sustainable development, Chai claimed that the UN gathering called for increased cooperation among nations.

Srettha agreed that a global problem exists due to global warming.

His subsequent significant overseas travel will be to San Francisco for the Apec Summit from November 11–17. According to Chai, it will serve as a platform to promote investment, trade, and economic growth in Thailand.
