Nigerian drug lord arrested in Bangkok

Nigerian drug lord arreasted in Bangkok

In a drug smuggling operation in a residence in Bangkok’s Nimit Mai neighborhood, police swooped in to arrest five foreigners and the three Thai wives of a Nigerian drug lord.

Kirisak Tantinawachai, the acting commissioner of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB), disclosed that investigators had uncovered a drug trafficking network in Thailand run by Joseph, a Nigerian citizen also known as Mickey.

The individual gave his group in Thailand cocaine and heroin to distribute both domestically and internationally, including to Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan.
Today, October 27, the NSB officers executed the Mouse Hunt anti-drug operation in order to apprehend the gang members in Thailand. At a home in the Nimit Mai neighborhood, they detained eight suspects after conducting raids on seventeen dubious sites.

Thatsanee, Rattanaporn, and Kanokkorn, three of Joseph’s wives, were detained together with four men from Nigeria and one from Ivory Coast. The police found 350 grams of heroin, 49 grams of cocaine, and 6 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
In an effort to apprehend the entire gang, Superintendent Kirisak stated that officers were now carrying out additional gang investigations and questioning the detained individuals.

According to Kirisak, Nigerian drug traffickers targeted financially struggling Thai ladies. After dating the ladies, they would eventually force them into the drug trafficking network by using them as nominees.
Kirisak asked Thais to notify the authorities if they saw a group of Nigerian nationals acting strangely and avoiding interaction with the locals. The commissioner also forewarned Thai women against joining the group, pointing out that the death penalty is the ultimate penalty for plotting within a drug smuggling network.
