Encourage the Cabinet to announce May 5, 2023, as a new public holiday with a long break of four days in the aim of boosting tourism.
The cabinet will discuss adding public holidays as a special case for the year 2023 to boost the economy, according to deputy prime minister Wissanu Krea-ngam, at its meeting today (10 Jan. ’23). May 5th, which falls on Friday, is one more day, especially for tourists. resulting in a holiday lasting four straight days, from Coronation Day on May 4 to Sunday, May 7, 2023
resulting in a total of three public holidays in May 2023, on May 4, May 5, and May 5, as well as May 17, which is the day of the Royal Plowing Ceremony. However, there will be 19 public holidays in total in 2023.
