Parts of Thailand set to shiver as temperatures plummet

People living in the north-eastern, northern, eastern and central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will experience another round of cool weather from tomorrow until Tuesday, due to the arrival of a strong cold front from China over northern Thailand and the South China Sea, according to the Meteorological Department.

Easterly and south-easterly winds will bring thunder storms and strong winds before temperatures drop.

Meanwhile, the southern region will see more rain, some of it heavy, as well as strong winds. People are advised to avoid staying in open fields or under large trees or billboards.

Morning minimum temperatures in the northern region are forecast to range from 14oC to 19oC. In mountainous areas, they could be as low 6oC. In the north-eastern region, minimum temperatures are forecast to vary from 15oC to 24oC and 12oC to 17oC in the highlands.

The central region can expect fog in the morning, with minimum temperatures varying from 22oC to 25oC, but it will be hot during the day.

Bangkok and its vicinity will be misty in the morning, with a minimum temperature of 25 degrees.
