A night ferry to Koh Tao sank after being hit by high waves, but all passengers, including foreign tourists, and crew were safely rescued. The ferry, carrying about 70 people, suffered damage to its water pumps when sea water entered the vessel.
Rescue workers, police, and local leaders quickly arrived at the scene to transport everyone to safety. The ferry later sank, prompting the navy to inspect the area and search for belongings. An initial investigation revealed that the number of passengers did not exceed the limits. The Meteorological Department had previously warned of strong wind waves in the area during the specified time period.
