A Korean Air flight from Seoul to Taichung, Taiwan encountered a dramatic decompression emergency, resulting in over a dozen injuries. The sudden malfunction forced the pilots to rapidly descend the Boeing 737 Max aircraft by 25,000 feet in just 15 minutes.
Thirteen passengers needed hospital treatment for symptoms like hyperventilation and eardrum pain. Fortunately, the flight crew deployed oxygen masks, and the plane safely landed without further issues. In response, South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has initiated an investigation into the incident after a cockpit pressurization alert sounded approximately 50 minutes into the flight.
