After the unofficial Thai general election vote total was made public by the Election Commission (EC), Pita Limjaroenrat, the head of the Move Forward party, 42, declared victory on Monday, May 15.

The Move Forward Party is now leading the party list as of the most recent update from the EC at 9:57 AM, followed by the Pheu Thai Party and the Bhumjaithai Party. The Move Forward Party received 11,2 out of 400 seats for constituency members of parliament, according to the unofficial election results, and 14,136,838 million votes for the party list. The Pheu Thai Party received 10,795,470,000,000 votes for their party list and 112 seats in the legislature during this time.A total of 52,238,594 Thai citizens, or 75.22 percent, voted in the election, including 39,293,867 of them.

After midnight on May 15, Pita declared on Twitter, “I am prepared to serve as Thailand’s 30th prime minister. I appreciate the support of all the voters. We both aspire to a better Thailand as a result of improvements, and we share this belief. I will be your prime minister and will serve you all, regardless of whether you voted for me.

However, as we will explain below, TPN media points out that there is no assurance that Mr. Pita would be appointed PM.

However, the military-appointed senate and freshly elected house must convene in order to choose a new prime minister. This could take some time, and different coalitions are anticipated to develop in an effort to pass their candidates.
