PM praises collaborative work to clear Rama II Road

The Prime Minister has commended the joint efforts of government and private organizations in easing traffic congestion on Rama II Road, with the aim of completing all construction work by the following year.

Government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke stated that Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin praised the cooperation among public and private sectors in addressing the traffic issues on Rama II Road, leading to improved travel experiences for drivers. Furthermore, Prime Minister Srettha has directed that all construction projects on the road be finalized within the upcoming year, prioritizing the safety of road users.

Initiated in 1970, the construction of Rama II Road remains ongoing. Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit has been actively resolving road-related challenges, assuring that past issues such as severe traffic congestions will be mitigated, especially during holidays.

The article elaborated on the collaborative efforts during the recent Songkran holiday to enhance road safety. Multiple construction projects, including various expressways and highways, are currently in progress on Rama II Road. The completion of these initiatives is slated for June next year, except for one project earmarked for completion by December 2025.

Concerns over safety on Rama II Road have been heightened due to incidents such as scaffolding collapses and structural accidents that have occurred in recent years.
