Road Raging Man Detained for Threatening Riders with Gun and Knife

The police in Bang Chan have detained a man accused of threatening a young rider and a female passenger with a gun and a knife on Ram Inthra Road in Bangkok. Despite the victims apologizing, the suspect remained aggressive. Authorities are now compiling evidence and urging the victims to file a formal complaint.

Incident Details

On March 21, a video circulated on social media showing a man brandishing a firearm and a knife outside Thaksina Business Administration School in Bangkok’s Khan Na Yao district. The suspect was driving a white Toyota Veloz, registered in Bangkok.

Police Investigation

Following the video’s emergence, Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom and Police Major General Nopasilp Poolsawat ordered officers to investigate. They identified the suspect as 59-year-old Suthee, who later confessed to the crime. During questioning, Suthee admitted to his actions, leading police to confiscate a fake gun and a knife as evidence. Authorities are now reviewing the case before proceeding with legal charges.

Search for the Victims

The investigative team from Bang Chan Police Station is working to trace the victims’ motorcycle registration and establish contact. However, the victims remain unidentified and unreachable. Even if they do not file a complaint, legal proceedings will continue against the suspect for offenses against the state, as reported by KhaoSod.

Related Road Rage Incident

In a separate case, a Thai woman in Phuket accused a foreign man of damaging her car without reason. Some netizens, after watching footage of the incident, sympathized with the foreigner. The woman took to the Facebook page Phuket Times to share her story, claiming the man rushed toward her car, struck it repeatedly, and walked away without any apparent cause.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents, emphasizing the need for road safety and legal accountability.
