Rural Roads Department (RRD) instructed its offices nationally to prepare water distribution for rural households

Additionally, for fear that they would decrease as a result of the drop in water levels, the government asked provincial offices to monitor the roadways that border reservoirs and irrigation canals.

On its website, the RRD declared that district and provincial offices across the country would work together to send out water trucks to supply villages in drought-stricken areas.

Additionally, it gave RRD representatives instructions to inspect all rural roads near reservoirs and irrigation canals for cracks and other indications of subsidence brought on by falling water levels.Along roads considered to be at risk of subsidence, warning signs will be put up to alert drivers.

Additionally, the agency instructed offices to be prepared to repair roads right away if they experience subsidence. Roads that have been fixed after sinking must be frequently inspected for drought-related deterioration. The drought this year will be considerably worse than the ones in 2019 and 2020, the Meteorological Department said last month. The country-wide record-breaking high temperatures are what are causing the drought conditions.
