Scorching Thai Heatwave with a Refreshing Chance of Rain

Thai heatwave hot to handle but a splash of rain may cool things. The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) predicts that today’s weather in Thailand will be marked by high temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius, with light rain expected in some areas of 24 provinces. The upper part of Thailand will generally experience hot weather with haze during the daytime, with extremely hot conditions in some areas of north, northeast, and central Thailand. This is attributed to a low-pressure system covering the region. Residents are urged to take health precautions and avoid prolonged outdoor activities due to the heat.

In Bangkok and surrounding areas, the weather is expected to be generally hot with haze during the day and a few isolated showers. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 27 to 28°C to a maximum of 35 to 38°C.

For the north, the general forecast is hot weather with haze during the day and some extremely hot areas. Minimum temperatures will range from 16 to 25 °C, while maximum temperatures are expected between 35 and 40 °C. The northeast will also experience hot weather with daytime haze and extremely hot conditions in certain areas. Thunderstorms are expected in 10% of the area, with strong winds likely in some places, particularly in Yasothon, Sisaket, Surin, and Ubon Ratchathani. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 20 to 27°C to a maximum of 36 to 40°C.

In central Thailand, the forecast is similar, with hot weather and haze during the day, and some places experiencing extremely hot conditions. There will be thunderstorms in 10% of the area, with strong winds expected in some parts, mainly in Lopburi, Saraburi, and Ratchaburi. Temperatures are expected to range between 24 and 26°C for the minimum and 35 and 40°C for the maximum.
The east generally has hot weather with daytime haze. Thunderstorms are expected in 10% of the area, with strong winds in some parts, particularly in Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Trat.

Minimum temperatures will be 24 to 28°C, with maximum temperatures between 32 and 38°C. The sea will have waves below 1 metre, rising to over 1 metre in stormy areas.

For the southeast coast, partly cloudy weather with thunderstorms is expected in 10% of the area, mostly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperatures will range from 22 to 25°C for the minimum to 31 to 35°C for the maximum. The sea will have waves below 1 metre, rising to over 1 metre in stormy areas, reported KhaoSod.
