Six political parties discussed that Thailand’s transformation into an innovative economy will depend on a transparent government.

“Innovation Policies to Move the Country Forward” was the theme of the event, which was jointly organized by Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Architecture and Institute of Asian Studies. Each side discussed its innovative plan for developing Thailand.

There were several speakers at the event, including Voranai Vanijaka of the Chart Pattana Kla Party, Tankhun Jitissara of the Democrat Party, Suksit Srichomkwan of the Pheu Thai Party, Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut of the Move Forward Party, Thepparith Senamngern of the Thai Sang Thai Party, and Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungruang of the Unified Thai Nation Party.

They all concurred that innovation is essential for Thailand’s competitiveness to increase exponentially in all areas.Additionally, they agreed on a similar vision and set of guidelines for fostering Thailand’s innovation culture and empowering it to take the lead in resolving present and upcoming problems.

However, they emphasized that Thailand must first establish a new government that is genuinely democratic, fair, open-minded, and transparent in order to claim the top spot on the world list of innovative nations. The country needs to eliminate its bureaucratic structure, which is rife with redundancies and encourages corruption, according to Voranai of the Chart Pattana Kla Party.

The establishment of digital government technology, he suggested, would be a good place to start for Thailand to become an inventive nation. He made the case that technology would make sure that there would be no danger of bribery or corruption.

He thought that without a democratic administration in Thailand that could ensure its citizens that there were no capitalists or hidden agendas at play, innovation could not take place.

He suggested that you should start with the government if you want to boost innovation in Thailand.

Government plays a significant role.

The Move Forward Party’s Natthaphong concurred with Voranai. He claimed that innovation would be essential to eradicating corruption in the nation because it would enable citizens to hold their government accountable.

But innovation cannot happen if the government forbids it.

He emphasized the value of teaching people about innovation and giving them the tools they need to exercise their rights.

He emphasized the crucial role played by the government in facilitating their easy access to free internet, inexpensive electricity, and other resources necessary to foster an innovative attitude.

Education reform

The United Thai Nation Party’s Duangrit underlined the significance of changing the educational system in the nation so that students have more options while searching for the ideal job route. The workforce needed to be retrained and upgraded in order to have the set of skills demanded by the labor market.

He proposed changing the banking system to give small and medium-sized enterprises access to the capital they need to expand, particularly through innovation.According to Thepparith of the Thai Sang Thai Party, innovation simply refers to the procedure, resources, or technique employed to address a challenge. As a result, cutting-edge technology is not usually associated with innovation.

He argued that the government should help people see their potential as innovators in their respective industries. He asserted that Thailand needs inclusive education to raise people’s awareness of this.

Dungrit and Thepparith’s views were shared by Tankhun of the Democrat Party, who added that kids should be free to select their own learning goals and that everyone should be allowed to take part in determining the best course for their own city.

He added that the environment should be taken into account when using innovation as a tool to advance the nation’s economy and society.Suksit of the Pheu Thai Party emphasized that when it comes to maximizing people’s productivity, the government can play both the role of an angel and a devil.

This indicates that although authoritarian governments work to advance their own political parties, the masses only experience pain. He argued that for people to realize their greatest potential, their government must permit them to participate and openly express their thoughts.

He thought that the government’s job was to offer and facilitate all of the tools and procedures required for people to maximize their own abilities. The event, according to NIA director Pan-arj Chairatana, demonstrated the parties’ shared aim to advance Thailand’s economy and society through innovation in order to win over the public’s confidence.

He anticipated that the newly elected administration and the broader public would see that innovation goes beyond digital transformation. According to him, innovation is a weapon for effectively solving issues like the economy, employment, and personal security.
