Songkran on Khao San Road

The Songkran festival on Khao San Road, also known as the Khao San World Water Festival UNESCO 2024, has commenced, with people joining in the water festivities.

On April 12,2024, Khao San Road, a renowned tourist hub in the heart of Bangkok, once again buzzed with excitement during the Songkran festival of 2024. Both Thai nationals and foreigners joyfully engaged in Songkran water splashing activities. The atmosphere on Khao San Road, starting from the afternoon and extending to the surrounding areas including Bang Lamphu Intersection, Jakapong Road, Tanawat Road, Sip Sam Hang Road, Kraisi Road, and Rambuttri Road, gradually filled with people enjoying water play, creating a vibrant and lively scene. The streets transformed into colorful spectacles, filled with people of various styles, splashing water and having fun.

The Khao San World Water Festival UNESCO 2024, organized by the Khao San Road Business Association, features activities from 12:00 to 22:00 on April 13-15. Additionally, police and security officers, including the Royal Thai Police and municipal officers, are ensuring safety, focusing on five key areas: gun prohibition, alcohol prohibition, obscenity prohibition, flour prohibition, and water conservation. Furthermore, AI technology is being utilized to monitor people’s entry and exit as well as to identify various risky behaviors.
