Scheduled for October 9–12, 2025, and hosted at the Grand Richmond Stylish Convention Hotel in Bangkok, the event will bring together the nation’s top young innovators for four days of immersive racing, real-time problem-solving, and high-impact STEM challenges.
The competition combines science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with the speed and spectacle of motorsport — a high-octane learning platform designed to propel Thai students toward global careers in advanced technology and innovation.
What is STEM Racing Thailand 2025?
STEM Racing Thailand 2025 is a national student engineering competition based on the global F1 in Schools model. Teams of students design, build, and race miniature Formula 1-style cars using digital engineering tools and 3D manufacturing technology. The competition promotes STEM learning, teamwork, and problem-solving while preparing students for future careers in technology and engineering.

Igniting Futures Through Engineering and Teamwork
Set to take place from October 9–12, 2025, the event will be hosted at the world-class Grand Richmond Stylish Convention Hotel in Bangkok. The national finals will bring together over 60 school teams from across Thailand. The venue’s 9-meter-high ballroom will be transformed into a full-scale STEM Racing arena, featuring immersive LED screens, F1-style race tracks, and student innovation exhibits — creating an atmosphere that mirrors the intensity of a professional motorsport event.
In addition to domestic entries, international guest teams are expected to participate — adding a global dimension to this four-day showcase of speed, science, and student ingenuity.
The competition will feature engineering time trials, pit displays, technical presentations, and verbal interviews — all modeled on the operations of a real Formula 1 team.
The event is officially supported by Formula 1’s F1 in Schools initiative and backed by the Thai Ministry of Education. Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has expressed support for the competition as part of the capital’s broader mission to become a regional education and innovation hub.
“This isn’t just about fast cars — it’s about fast minds,” Governor Chadchart said. “Bangkok aims to lead ASEAN in STEM capacity, and this competition connects students directly to future industries.”

From Classroom to Pit Lane: How the Competition Works
Teams will be judged across several categories:
- Engineering Design – CAD-modeled cars tested for aerodynamics, efficiency, and innovation.
- Racing Trials – Cars race head-to-head on a 20-meter track, timed to the millisecond.
- Team Branding – Logos, sponsorship kits, and social presence assessed by experts.
- Verbal Presentations – Students explain their process, research, and learning outcomes to a panel.
The national champions will earn the opportunity to represent Thailand at the 2025 F1 in Schools World Finals, expected to be held in Singapore.

Several Bangkok-based schools are among the frontrunners, including international and bilingual institutions such as Shrewsbury, St. Andrews, and King Mongkut’s Institute. Public schools from Pathum Thani and Chonburi are also expected to compete strongly.
