Subway Thailand acknowledged on Monday that it has received numerous complaints regarding its food, but clarified that these issues pertain to outlets whose Subway franchises have already expired.

In a Facebook post, Subway Thailand stated that many of the complaints focused on food quality and staining from food wrappers. Upon investigation, they discovered that the complaints originated from customers who had visited locations where the Subway franchise had lapsed.

The operator of the quick service restaurants noted that franchises at 105 outlets expired on July 26, while 51 branches still maintain valid franchises.

Some complainants urged the master franchise holder to take legal action against former franchisees who continue to use the Subway logo, arguing that it is difficult for consumers and delivery personnel to differentiate between former and current franchisees.

Go Luck Co Ltd has been reported to hold the master franchise since April 1 of this year.
