Sugar to be removed from the controlled product list

Thailand’s Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai is considering removing sugar from the list of price-controlled products, pending agreement from stakeholders. This decision comes after protests from sugarcane millers due to an increase in sugar prices for the 2023-24 harvest.
