According to the Travel + Leisure magazine’s website, Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport has been recognized as the seventh most luxurious airport globally and the second most lavish in the ASEAN region.

Leading the rankings is Dubai International Airport, followed by London’s Heathrow, Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport, Sydney International Airport, Singapore’s Changi Airport, Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Frankfurt Airport, and Japan’s Narita International Airport.

The assessment was based on factors like lounge amenities, designer shops, and proximity to upscale hotels.

Thailand has ambitious plans to enhance Suvarnabhumi’s capacity to cater to 150 million passengers annually by 2030. The airport already boasts a second passenger terminal, SAT-1, capable of accommodating 60 million passengers each year.

Scheduled to open this year, a third runway will boost the airport’s capacity to handle up to 90 flights per hour. Additionally, a fourth runway is in the pipeline, aiming to further increase capacity to around 120 flights per hour.
