Swiss Man has admitted to killing his wife in Nakhon Ratchasima

Swiss Man Bangkok one JAN 30 2024

A Swiss man, identified as Mr. Roland, has confessed to killing his Thai wife, Ms. Orathai Posingam, who had inherited 13 million baht from her first Swiss husband. She went missing on January 8, and police have been conducting an extensive search for her.

According to reports, Roland admitted to strangling his wife to death during a heated argument. He then transported her body on a motorcycle and dumped it in a cornfield about 6 kilometers away from their home. The couple had been living in Nakhon Ratchasima province for the past two years.

The investigation into Orathai’s disappearance led police to suspect Roland, who had been avoiding the search efforts and mostly staying home. Roland was questioned again after Orathai’s younger sister raised suspicions about his involvement. She pointed out that Orathai wouldn’t have left her belongings behind if she had run away on her own.

A scuba diving team from the Buddhatham 31 Foundation even searched a nearby pond, but no evidence related to her disappearance was found.

A close friend of Roland, who is a radio show host, revealed that the couple would often have coffee at a shop in Khon Buri every morning. He stated that Roland believed his wife had run away due to personal reasons and would soon return. However, he mentioned that they had argued in the past over her gambling habit.

Despite Roland’s belief that Orathai would come back, he has now confessed to her murder. The police investigation will continue to gather more details and evidence surrounding this case.
