Thai Airways are planning to order 100 Aircraft

Thai Airways International PLC is looking to order 100 aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing to modernize its fleet. The Airline is looking at ordering the the A330NEO, A350, A321NEOS on the Airbus side and for Boeing the 777-9 and more 787’s.

At this moment both Airbus and Boeing are not willing to comment anything until the formal deal is done. The Dubai Airshow where the AX media team attended there was a lot of orders for the 777X with Emirates as they placed an additional 80 orders. 50 of the 777-9 and 35 of the 777-8. Hopefully we will see Thai Airways ordering them.

Thai Airways at the moment has 53 active wide body aircraft and 8 narrow but to be increased once the merger with Thai Smile is completed in January. The current wide body fleet at the moment consist of A330-300, A350-900, 787-8/9, 777-200ER and the 777-300ER.
