Thai Airways International has notified ticket agents of a broad reduction in flight frequencies for May 2026, affecting domestic, regional and European routes, as the airline responds to rising fuel costs and softer low-season demand.

The national carrier indicated that schedules may be adjusted throughout the month, with services trimmed across multiple markets. In a notice issued last week, the airline said contingency measures have been put in place to assist agents and passengers in managing the changes.

Domestic network adjustments

Within Thailand, several routes from Bangkok’s main hub, Suvarnabhumi Airport, will see reduced frequencies:

  • Khon Kaen: from 4 daily flights to 3 (May 1–31)
  • Udon Thani: from 3 daily to 2 (May 1–31)
  • Ubon Ratchathani: from 14 to 12 weekly flights (May 5–28)

Asia network reductions

Across Asia, the airline will implement a mix of frequency cuts and temporary suspensions.

ASEAN

  • Phnom Penh: from 14 weekly flights to 11 (May 2–30)
  • Singapore: from 5 daily flights to 4 (May 2–31)

North Asia

  • Tokyo (Narita): from 3 daily to 2 (May 11–31, except May 29)
  • Beijing: from 2 daily to 1 (May 7–31, except May 29)
  • Shanghai (Pudong): from 2 daily to 1 (May 11–31, except May 30)
  • Seoul (Incheon): from 3 daily to 1 (May 8–31)
  • Taipei: from 3 daily to 2 (May 6–31)
  • Hong Kong: from 4 daily to 3 (May 6–31)
  • Kaohsiung: suspended (May 8–31)

South Asia

  • Hyderabad: from daily to 5 weekly flights (May 4–27)
  • Delhi: from 22 to 21 weekly flights (May 1–29)
  • Mumbai: from 2 daily flights to 1 (May 1–31)

Europe network changes

Long-haul services to Europe will also be temporarily scaled back:

  • Istanbul: from daily to 5 weekly flights (May 11–27)
  • Frankfurt: from 14 to 12 weekly flights (May 18–27)
  • Munich: from daily to 5 weekly flights (May 19–28)
  • Copenhagen: from daily to 5 weekly flights (May 18–27)
  • Oslo: from daily to 5 weekly flights (May 18–27)
  • Stockholm: from daily to 5 weekly flights (May 18–27)

Thai Airways said it will continue to monitor market conditions and may introduce further schedule adjustments if necessary.
