Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) and Kuwait Airways (KAC) have announced a newly established codeshare agreement. Under this agreement, THAI will utilize the KAC code on flights between Kuwait City and Bangkok, as well as from Kuwait City to European cities like Rome and Athens.
In reciprocity, Kuwait Airways will also implement its code on THAI flights connecting Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, effective as of today.
CEO of THAI, Chai Eamsiri, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the expanded travel opportunities it will offer between Bangkok and Kuwait City, along with enhanced access to Middle Eastern, North African, and European destinations.
Eamsiri stated, “We anticipate further growth in this partnership, introducing more benefits to enhance seamless connectivity and provide passengers with increased options and a superior travel experience.”
The codeshare agreement is anticipated to fortify the relationship between the airlines and their respective countries, fostering additional avenues for collaboration to enhance travel options and connectivity. Kuwait Airways CEO, Captain Ahmad M. AlKreebani, highlighted the positive impact this cooperation would have on commercial and tourism ties between Kuwait and Thailand.
He mentioned, “Passengers can conveniently book these flights through our websites or travel agents’ systems. This agreement will not only strengthen the ties between our airlines but also between our countries, Kuwait and Thailand.”
Pending government approval, the partnership could extend to encompass more routes. Potential expansions include THAI offering codeshare services on Kuwait Airways flights to destinations in the Middle East and Europe, such as Amman, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Cairo, Casablanca, and Milan. Conversely, Kuwait Airways could provide codeshare services on THAI flights to various locations in Korea, the Far East, and within Thailand.
