Thai Airways is preparing a major cabin upgrade with the introduction of new Royal Silk business class suites and premium economy seating on its upcoming Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-10 aircraft, scheduled to enter service from mid-2027.
The airline’s new flagship business class product will be based on Thompson Aero Seating’s Vantage Nova platform, offering passengers enhanced privacy, comfort and modern design features.
As part of its fleet renewal strategy, Thai Airways will phase out first class suites on its Boeing 777-300ER fleet. In their place, the airline will introduce an exclusive “Business Plus” section positioned at the front of the business class cabin.
According to Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri, many leading international airlines have moved away from traditional first class, positioning business class as their highest cabin offering. The new Business Plus suites will provide additional space, longer lie-flat beds, larger entertainment screens and increased legroom, giving passengers a premium travel experience while maintaining the flexibility of a business class product.
Each Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-10 will feature four Business Plus suites, marking a new era for Thai Airways as it continues its transformation and long-term growth strategy.
