The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and 19 Thai exhibitors recently participated in ITB Asia 2023 in Singapore, showcasing Thailand’s sustainable tourism experiences. It was TAT’s 15th year at the event, where they highlighted meaningful travel options.
The Thailand Stand featured reusable decoration items from past events and new materials for future use. The TAT Information Counter provided information on sustainable tourism experiences, and DIY workshops showcased traditional Thai flags and batik clothing designs.
Mrs. Ruedee Cheawsamoot, Director of the TAT ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific Market Division, confirmed the success of Thailand’s participation. The Thailand Stand conducted 721 business appointments, with 40% expected to result in contracts. Sellers expressed an 82% satisfaction rate with the marketing activities. This annual presence at ITB Asia is part of TAT’s marketing efforts in the Singapore market, one of Thailand’s top ten source markets.
Thailand remains a popular destination for Singaporean travelers, with top destinations including Bangkok, Phuket, Chon Buri, Krabi, Songkhla, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Chiang Mai. Singaporeans enjoy Thai food, massage and spa treatments, historical sites, nightlife, and local communities. Thailand welcomed 738,761 visitors from Singapore from January to October, with the goal of reaching 800,000 by year-end.
