“Kintaam, the beloved ice cream sandwich parlor from Chiang Mai, has recently opened its doors in Bangkok. Located in a cozy shop in Sathorn, they prioritize locally-sourced ingredients to create exceptional frozen treats with a unique Thai twist. Whether you choose the popular Thai pink milk flavor called ‘nom yen’ or the delightful ‘cha thai’ featuring Thai milk tea with roasted longan bits, you’re in for a delightful experience. At Kintaam, you can customize your ice cream sandwich by selecting a crunchy biscuit base, freshly baked daily. Options include butter, chocolate, oatmeal-cinnamon, or the unique fermented red rice ‘angkak.’ Next, you can choose your ice cream flavor and top it off with sprinkled sugar, honeycombs, or roasted marshmallows, all for just THB75. Our top recommendation is the ‘yen jiab,’ which combines tangy yogurt ice cream with ginger jam for a delightful kick. Pair it with the red rice angkak biscuit to enhance the flavors. Please be aware that long queues are to be expected, and it’s advisable to check their Instagram page to ensure they haven’t sold out for the day.”

Located on Sathorn Soi 11 open from 11AM-9PM

When Sherlyn Luangprasert first delved into the art of tea making, she never anticipated venturing beyond the realm of matcha lattes. Her journey took an unexpected turn when she mistakenly enrolled in a tea ceremony workshop, believing it to be a course on crafting the popular beverages that were in vogue at the time. Little did she know that this single workshop would become the catalyst for her burgeoning passion for tea. This newfound passion eventually led her to establish Shersanctuary Tea Bar, which she describes as a “safe space” where urban dwellers can temporarily set aside their daily worries and immerse themselves in the tranquil world of tea.

A recommended highlight from the menu is the ‘Sherlyn’ (priced at THB250). This tea blend is a reflection of Sherlyn’s personal journey to embrace cinnamon, a spice she had developed a dislike for due to its association with ‘palo,’ her least favorite dish from her Chinese upbringing. The tea offers vibrant and zesty flavors, gradually transitioning into a gentle sweetness as it cools.
