The BMA rolls out the New Years eve safety plan

Bangkok New Years eve bangkok one

In efforts to ensure public safety during the New Year festival, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has introduced a range of measures across the capital.

The BMA has devised a disaster prevention plan and assigned district offices to assist in taking care of festival-goers. Collaboration has been established with business operators for outdoor and indoor activities, and a public service center will be available for assistance.

Traffic management will be monitored by the City Law Office, with support from district officials. The Medical Service Department will coordinate with hospitals to ensure emergency response systems are prepared for accidents during the festivities.

The Health Department will conduct inspections of venues storing fireworks and pyrotechnic equipment, along with entertainment venues utilizing such equipment, to guarantee patron safety.

To address any potential fire incidents, the Fire and Rescue Department will station firefighters at 37 locations across the capital during the New Year period.

Furthermore, the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the BMA’s Administration and Registration Division will establish a monitoring center from December 29 to January 4.

Popular countdown locations like CentralWorld, IconSiam, Asiatique, Siam Square, and Samyan Mitrtown are expected to attract large crowds. Event organizers at these venues have been instructed to submit safety plans for review and consideration.

In a separate event, the national police chief and the interior minister participated in a ceremony to launch a project focused on raising public awareness of road safety regulations at the Royal Thai Police headquarters.
