The Move Forward Party started five caravans on Thursday, the final day of its campaigning before the May 14 election, and is optimistic that it will win at least 160 seats.

At a news conference held at the party headquarters to announce the five campaign caravans, Move Forward secretary-general Chaithawat Tulathon expressed confidence that his party would gain at least 160 MPs and would become the following coalition leader to push for improvements in Thailand.

Despite the National Institute of Development Administration’s most recent poll showing that Move Forward would garner roughly 35% of the vote, Chaithawat claimed that the party’s rallies in important Bangkok locations and in the provinces indicated even greater support.

“The 35% figure of Nida Poll did not reflect clearly what the party has seen during its campaigns at Samyan Mitrtown shopping mall in Bangkok, at rallies in Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Udon Thani provinces, and at Bang Saen beach in Chonburi,” said Chaithawat.

People desire reforms, as evidenced by the nationwide “Move Forward fever”

In a nationwide poll conducted by Nida Poll on May 3, 35.44% of 2,500 eligible voters chose Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat as their preferred candidate for prime minister, surpassing Pheu Thai rival Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

Move Forward was the second-most popular party for party-list elections, according to the study, receiving 35.36% of the vote. In constituency elections, it earned 33.96% of the vote and finished second in terms of popularity.According to Chaithawat, the party would send its leader and core members to visit voters in four important zones during the final week leading up to the May 14 election: the North, South, East, and Northeast.

He declared that Chaithawat would lead the caravan on the northern campaign path while Pita would take the helm in the South and East.

The Move Forward patriarch Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit would lead one campaign trail in the Northeast, and the former Future Forward Party secretary-general Piyabutr Saengkanokkul would lead the other. Following the dissolution of Future Forward due to a decision by the Constitutional Court, Move Forward was established.

According to Chaithawat, the five caravans would encounter voters as they traveled, and all teams would then head back to Bangkok for the final significant rally on May 12 evening.
