Turkish Airlines Launches Exhibition at Istanbul Business Class Lounge

The 2018 Champions League final will be held in Istanbul.

Turkish Airlines is closely connected to the world of football and sponsors a number of teams both domestically and abroad. Istanbul will play host to the UEFA Champions League final this season, featuring a matchup between two of the top club teams in Europe at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium. The carrier opened a unique exhibit with this in mind.

a timeline of 18 years

Memorabilia from UEFA Champions League finals dating back to 2005 is on display at the exhibition. It may appear odd to be dealing with a timescale of 18 years. The final that year was staged at Istanbul’s Atatürk Stadium, so those who were fortunate enough to watch it will comprehend its significance.

While a momentous occasion in in of itself, the game became known as the “Miracle of Istanbul” as Liverpool came back from being down 3-0 to tie Italian team AC Milan before winning the championship on penalties.

This serves as the exhibition’s opening match, which is regarded as one of the best finals in tournament history. Before to the exhibition’s debut, former AC Milan defender Cafu and Steven Gerrard, who led Liverpool to victory in 2005, paid a visit.

There are additional items from subsequent finals, including Ronaldinho’s shirt from the 2006 edition. The former star of Barcelona and Brazil also stopped by the exhibit before it officially opened in the Star Alliance airline’s business class lounge at Istanbul Airport (IST).

A digital component is also present in the exhibit.

There is undoubtedly something for everyone at the exhibition, which features 18 years of football history. A significant component of the experience for its visitors is the physical mementos from the finals of the previous 18 years, as seen in the image above.

For those visitors who are more interested in technology, there are also video highlights of previous Champions League finals and gaming consoles featuring the FIFA 23 video game. Turkish Airlines’ chief marketing officer, Ahmet Olmuştur, said that the company is pleased to be the first airline sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, one of the greatest and most famous sports leagues in the world.

After the 2005 final, which has been a happy memory for football fans ever since, we are also thrilled that the Champions League champion will be determined in Istanbul once more.

The performance has satisfied UEFA.

The launch of Turkish Airlines’ new football-themed area was praised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), whose oversight of sport on a continental scale includes the Champions League. Guillaume Sabran, the manager of sponsorship and licensing, made the following remarks on the opening of the exhibition:

“The UEFA Champions League Finals Exhibit captures the excitement and enjoyment of former finals brilliantly. Istanbul will host the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final, and we are honored by this. The final match on June 10th will be among the most memorable in the history of the cup thanks in large part to this exhibit.
