Two Foreign Nationals Die in Separate High-Rise Falls in Thailand

PHUKET & BANGKOK – Two tragic deaths occurred in the early hours of May 9, as a 25-year-old Malaysian tourist in Phuket and a 41-year-old Asian woman in Bangkok fell from high-rise buildings in separate incidents.

Phuket: Malaysian Tourist Falls to Death

Authorities in Patong were alerted by Patong Hospital at 1:30 a.m. about a tourist who had suffered fatal injuries after falling from a hotel building. The deceased, Harris, had just arrived in Thailand on May 8 as part of a 20-member tour group from Malaysia. He was staying with two friends in a Patong hotel when he suddenly exhibited erratic behavior, ran out of the room, and jumped from a rear balcony.

Despite emergency efforts, Harris succumbed to his injuries. Thai authorities have informed the Malaysian Embassy and are working with the hotel and witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the fall.

Bangkok: Woman Falls from 17th-Floor Condo

In Bangkok, around 1:10 a.m., Thonglor Police received a report about a woman who fell from the 17th floor of a condominium in the Sukhumvit area. The victim, a 41-year-old woman of Asian descent, was discovered by her husband, who was found crying at the scene.

A security guard on duty heard the husband’s cries for help from the 4th floor, where the condo swimming pool is located. The guard found the woman unconscious by the poolside and helped move her for medical attention, but she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigations Underway

Both incidents are under active investigation. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness testimonies in both cases to determine the exact causes of the falls. No foul play has been confirmed at this stage, but authorities are not ruling out any possibilities.
