Unlicensed Pub Raided in Nakhon Pathom, 81 Test Positive for Drugs
Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Nightclub Activities
NAKHON PATHOM – In a major crackdown on illegal nightlife activities, authorities raided Neon Pub in Samphran district during the early hours of Sunday, discovering 81 patrons who tested positive for drugs.
Raid Details
At 3 AM, a team of Department of Provincial Administration officials conducted a surprise raid following complaints that illegal narcotics were being sold inside the unlicensed establishment.
Upon arrival, officials sealed all exits and found 212 people inside the pub. As officers searched the venue, many clubgoers attempted to dispose of drugs, throwing small plastic bags containing ketamine and methamphetamine onto the floor.
Drug Testing and Arrests
Authorities conducted urine tests on all patrons, revealing that 81 individuals—49 men and 32 women—tested positive for drug use.
Illegal Operations and Consequences
Chaiwat Junthirapong, director-general of the Department of Provincial Administration, who personally led the raid, stated that Neon Pub blatantly violated multiple laws, including:
- Operating without a license
- Selling alcohol past legal hours
- Allowing drug sales on the premises
Chaiwat announced that he would recommend to the Nakhon Pathom governor that the nightclub be shut down for five years as a deterrent against further illegal operations.
Authorities continue to investigate the nightclub’s ownership and management to determine further legal action.
