Let’s take a look at the history of the Boeing 777-200LR before examining which airlines are still using it. The Boeing 777 twin-engine long-range airliner, built to fill the gap between the Boeing 767 and Boeing 747, made its maiden flight on June 12, 1994, and was then delivered to its launch client United Airlines on May 15, 1995.
The Boeing 777-200, 777-200 ER (extended range), and the Boeing 777-200LR, which debuted in 2006, came after this (long range). The aircraft had a greater range than any other commercial airliner at the time even though ETOPS standards were still in effect.
The Boeing 777-200LR, with a range of 8,555 nautical miles, was made for extremely long flights, such as those linking Changi Airport (SIN) in Singapore with Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Boeing 777-200 LR has been in use for 16 years, and numerous airlines around the world still use it.

Canada’s Air
Six Boeing 777-200LRs, the oldest of which is C-FIUA, are in the Air Canada fleet. On June 25, 2007, it was brand-newly delivered to Canada’s national airline.
Flight India
With five Boeing 777-200LRs in its fleet, the VT-AEF is the oldest. The aircraft was brand-new when it was delivered to Delta Air Lines on March 8, 2008, and Air India acquired it on November 22, 2022.
Airlines of Azerbaijan
One Boeing 777-200LR is operated by AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines and is designated 4K-AI001. On December 21, 2019, the brand-new plane was handed over to AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines.
Emirates
One of the biggest Boeing 777-200LR operators is Emirates, based in Dubai, and it has ten of the aircraft in its fleet. The Gulf carrier’s fleet’s oldest Boeing 777-200LR is A6-EWA. On August 31, 2007, Emirates received the brand-new aircraft.
African Airlines
Six Boeing 777-200LRs, including the oldest, ET-ANN, are in the fleet of the African airline Ethiopian Airlines. On November 17, 2010, the brand-new aircraft was handed over to Ethiopian Airlines.
Baghdad Airlines
With the registration YI-AQZ, Iraqi Airlines has one Boeing 777-200LR. Iraqi Airways was given permission to receive the plane on December 14, 2012, after French airline Air Austral cancelled their order.
Pakistan International Airlines is known as PIA.
Two Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, the oldest of which is AP-BGY, are part of the PIA fleet. On February 22, 2006, the aircraft was first delivered to PIA.
Doha Airlines
With nine 777-200LRs in its fleet, Qatar Airlines is the second-largest operator of the aircraft. A7-BBA is the oldest Boeing 777-200LR in Qatar Airlines’ fleet. On February 3, 2009, the Gulf airline received the brand-new aircraft.
Airlines of Turkmenistan
Four Boeing 777-200LRs, including the oldest, EZ-A777, are part of Turkmenistan Airlines’ fleet. On August 31, 2010, a brand-new aircraft was delivered to a carrier serving the former Soviet Republic.
WHITE AVIATION
One Boeing 777-200LR is among the four aircraft in the fleet of Portuguese charter airline White Airlines. On June 17, 2011, the aircraft CS-TQX was initially delivered to the Equatorial Guinean carrier CEIBA Intercontinental. On August 11, 2012, White Airlines subsequently purchased the aircraft. Now, Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) in Turkey is identified as housing the aircraft.
