The police from Sam Rong Tai Police Station conducted an investigation into an incident involving an 18-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle in the sunlight before colliding with a traffic sign and tragically losing his life. During a search, they found marijuana on him, leading to speculation that he may have been drowsy prior to the accident.

Today in Samut Prakan, CCTV footage along Phu Chao Samrong Phrai Road, in front of a specific company in Samrong Tai Subdistrict, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province, captured an image of a man riding a motorcycle along the road. The footage shows the motorcyclist suddenly veering from the left lane to the far right lane, resulting in a collision with a concrete island in the middle of the road where a traffic sign pole was positioned. This collision caused the man to hit the sign pole with significant force, leading to his fall to the ground.

Following the accident, volunteer rescue workers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation, alongside officers from Sam Rong Tai Police Station, arrived at the scene to assist the motorcycle rider. Unfortunately, medical personnel confirmed that they were unable to save the man, as he had succumbed to his injuries at the accident site. Upon searching the deceased’s trouser pocket, they discovered a plastic bag containing marijuana. The authorities proceeded to document and map the accident scene, take photographs, and record preliminary daily reports as evidence before transferring the body to the Ruam Katanyu Foundation volunteers for transportation to the forensic medicine department at Police General Hospital. They also coordinated with the family members to navigate the necessary legal procedures for the subsequent funeral arrangements.

The police suspect that the deceased may have been blinded by the sunlight and possibly dozed off while riding the motorcycle, leading to the fatal crash into the middle road island as observed in the aforementioned CCTV footage.
