Woman dies during rhinoplasty near Bangkok

Near Bangkok, in the region of Pathum Thani, a rhinoplasty treatment resulted in the death of a Thai woman. According to reports, the dead woman’s cardiac arrest was brought on by the use of anesthetics.

Yesterday, June 15, at 4 p.m., Siriya “New” Dateraksa, the deceased, passed away at the Nithikarn Clinic in Rattanakosin 200 Year Anniversary Village on Rangsit-Pathum Thani Road in the Thanyaburi district of Pathum Thani province.

The 25-year-old New was given CPR by the rescue squad and medical personnel, but they were unable to save her in time. No obvious wounds were seen.Napaporn Sinuan, 29, New’s lover, disclosed to Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station investigators that New had initially undergone rhinoplasty at a separate clinic, where she had a problem with her nose.

She sought a different clinic to address the issue since she lost faith in the first one.Napaporn claims that New first went to the clinic to have some silicone scraped off of her nose and then went back the day of the incident for a rhinoplasty. Napaporn revealed that she drove New to the clinic at 10am and then left because the surgery took place from 11am to 3pm and lasted for four hours.

Napaporn claimed that while she waited to pick her up, New failed to get in touch. She made the decision to visit the clinic and was startled to discover numerous rescues and medical personnel there. She quickly entered the clinic where she saw her girlfriend comatose on a bed.

The hospital notified Napaporn that after breathing the anesthetics, New developed a high body temperature and lost consciousness.

The doctor and other employees of the clinic were detained by police and taken to the police station for additional questioning.

The dead body of New was sent to Thammasat University Hospital so that an autopsy could be performed to ascertain the precise reason of her demise.

Another Thai woman died in a similar situation in March six hours after having breast augmentation surgery at the Marichche Clinic in the Pak Kret area of the Nonthaburi province close to Bangkok. She died from internal bleeding in her chest, according to the results of the autopsy.

The facility only had a license for basic surgery, not for complicated treatments like breast augmentation surgery, as her family’s attorney learned. The clinic initially provided 100,000 baht toward the burial expenses before her family claimed restitution of 10 million baht.
