The manager of Samut Prakan’s Mega Bangna shopping center in the Bang Phli neighborhood has provided an explanation for why an escalator unexpectedly stopped functioning on Tuesday.
Customers were concerned by the incident, which was accompanied by a loud noise, and one of them posted about it on Facebook.
According to the statement, the incident happened at 4:51 PM and was brought on by a dropped object that hindered the staircase’s ability to move. In accordance with safety regulations, this led to the safety switch shutting off the system.
No one was wounded, however the tremendous boom may have caused some alarm.
The use of the escalator had been temporarily halted while repairs and inspections were being made.
According to the statement, routine maintenance and inspections were performed on all equipment used at the shopping center.
