From November 21, Kenya Airways will restart nonstop service between Nairobi and Bangkok with three weekly flights.
The airline’s present non-stop service to the Chinese city of Guangzhou will be replaced by connections to Guangzhou.
Given the rising demand for air travel and the carrier’s need to return parked aircraft, KQ has entered into a long-term deal with Lufthansa Technik for aircraft components. Kenya Airways has scheduled a Boeing 787 Dreamliner return to Bangkok, Thailand, as part of its effort to expand its global network. Passengers will have the option to connect to Guangzhou when the service is resumed on November 21 following a nine-month break.
In 14 weeks, the national airline of Kenya will begin operating three weekly flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO). Flights will be run throughout the remainder of the year, according to the webpage for purchasing tickets.
The service between Nairobi and Bangkok will run on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, while the return will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The KQ886 flight will take off from NBO at 23:59 and land in Bangkok at 13:30 local time. Returning passenger flight KQ887 will take off from BKK at 01:00 local time and land at NBO at 06:05.The new route will replace the three weekly nonstop flights that Kenya Airways now runs from Nairobi to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN). At 14:40 from BKK, KQ886 will arrive at CAN at 18:35, and at 21:40 from CAN, KQ887 will reach BKK at 23:35.Prior to the service’s suspension on February 13 the SkyTeam member ran two weekly flights on the NBO-BKK-CAN route. On Ethiopian Airlines and Emirates, passengers had to be rerouted via Addis Abeba.
With an additional weekly flight with the same aircraft, KQ will restart service to South Asian cities. On the journey, passengers will have the option to experience the airline’s Dreamliner, which has 204 economy class and 30 business class (Premier World) seats.The East African carrier signed a long-term agreement with Lufthansa Technik AG last month to get parts for its fleet of 787-8 Dreamliners. The Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) service provider will offer Total Component Support (TCS) to KQ until 2028.
