In Thailand, there are currently 512,343 registered electric vehicles (EVs), with a growing interest in plug-in hybrid and battery EVs. Japanese automakers like Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, and Nissan are leading the market, but Chinese brands are gaining popularity with affordable EV options.
There are over 44 million registered vehicles in Thailand, with motorcycles comprising about half of them. In 2023, 2.8 million new vehicles were registered, and there are 33.4 million driver’s licenses issued for various vehicle types.
