New business registrations at a 10 year high

In 2023, Thailand experienced a significant increase in new business registrations, reaching over 85,000 and with a total capital of 560 billion baht. This surge in registrations can be attributed to the country’s economic recovery, government stimulus measures, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

The service sector, particularly in general construction, real estate, and restaurants, dominated the new business registrations, showcasing a diverse entrepreneurial landscape in Thailand. This signifies the growth and potential in these industries.

Foreign investment also played a substantial role in Thailand’s business landscape in 2023, with Japan leading the way as the top investor. This indicates the confidence and interest of international investors in Thailand’s market.

Looking ahead to 2024, the Business Development Department expects further growth in new business registrations and foreign investment. This indicates a positive outlook for Thailand’s economy and signals the continued attractiveness of the country as a business destination.
