A total of 48 individuals who were aboard a Singapore Airlines flight, which was diverted to Bangkok due to severe turbulence, are currently receiving medical care, according to officials on Friday.
These 48 patients are currently being treated in three different hospitals within Bangkok, as stated by Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital. There has been no recent update on the patients in intensive care.
Earlier on Thursday, the director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital had informed the media that while 20 individuals were in the ICU, there were no critical cases.
Out of the patients, six have already been discharged from the primary hospital where most patients were initially treated. This leaves 34 individuals still under medical supervision, including nine Australians, seven British, seven Malaysian, and three Philippine citizens, as mentioned in the statement.
Tragically, one passenger passed away due to a suspected heart attack, and numerous others sustained injuries when Singapore Airline Flight SQ321, en route from London to Singapore, encountered unexpected and severe turbulence while flying over Myanmar.
