Thailand-Cambodia bilateral trade totaled 28.72 billion baht in June 2025, a 9.5% decrease from the previous year, mainly due to declining exports like diesel (down 7.4%) and refined petroleum (down 33.3%) following Cambodia’s fuel import ban. Border trade fell 23.3% to 10.91 billion baht, with exports through checkpoints dropping 23.8%. Key declines included beverages, energy drinks, and coffee, partly due to stricter border controls.

Despite June’s slowdown, six-month trade rose 5.6% year-on-year to 95.15 billion baht, with trade surpluses. The main border checkpoints—Aranyaprathet, Khlong Yai, Chanthaburi, and Chong Chom—highlighted major trade categories.

The Commerce Ministry lowered the 2025 border and transit trade growth forecast from 3% to 2%, citing border clashes and protests in Cambodia. Cambodia’s import ban covers only four products; other goods still enter via seaports and neighboring countries. Anti-Thai sentiment and protests have reduced customer traffic for Thai businesses in Cambodia.

The government is implementing support measures like new sales channels, low-interest loans, trade fairs, and skill training to help affected entrepreneurs. Future efforts include visits to border areas and additional trade fairs to boost cross-border trade and recovery.
