Farm-Gate Egg Prices RiseFarm-Gate Egg Prices Rise

The egg farmers’ cooperative network has increased the farm-gate price of mixed chicken eggs from 3.20 baht to 3.40 baht per egg, equivalent to a rise of six baht per tray, effective Monday.

Chanuwat Siwamok, chief executive of Kings Eggs (Thailand) Co, said the adjustment reflects several pressures on producers, including a prolonged period of low prices and rising production costs. Higher animal feed prices in particular have placed increasing strain on small and medium-sized operators.

He added that high temperatures have begun to affect laying hens and overall egg production, contributing to tighter supply in the market.

At the same time, demand has grown as some consumers turn to eggs as a relatively affordable source of protein amid cost-of-living concerns linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Mr Chanuwat said the direction of egg prices going forward will largely depend on weather conditions and feed costs, which may fluctuate in line with global energy and commodity price trends.
