The department also advised residents in upper Thailand to avoid huge trees and unattended billboards since hailstorms, lightning, and severe rain are expected in several locations during this time. Using smartphones during thundershowers and wearing metal accessories were also discouraged.
Crop and livestock damage should be anticipated by farmers.The department issued a forecast for the South till Monday that included sporadic thundershowers and heavy rain. Thundershowers can cause waves in the Andaman Sea to reach two meters and beyond.
The government added that vessels should proceed with caution and tiny ones should remain ashore. People in the South have been urged to beware of flash floods and runoffs owing to heavy rain.
